Eclipse began with a desire to materialise the experience of witnessing a solar eclipse: a moment in which light is briefly obscured, then revealed again.
A square sheet of mirror is cut with a circular aperture. As the circular section moves away, light held behind the surface is released, bringing reflection and illumination together in a single object. The low angle of the light also reveals the texture of the wall itself, drawing out the character of plaster, brick or wood in a way that recalls the surface of the moon.

ECLIPSE LARGE
A larger edition of Eclipse, combining mirror and backlight within a larger format. It can be hung in four orientations, either individually or arranged in lines and grids.
