Reframed is a mirror collection that takes the craft of traditional, ornate frames and gently disrupts their form.

Each mirror starts from a familiar silhouette, then bends, extends, or divides in ways that reveal new functions, hidden interiors, or unexpected relationships. Through subtle intervention and careful transformation, the collection invites a reconsideration of what a frame can hold, expose, or become.

Louiiiis emerges from the outline of a classic Louis XIV frame. As its sketch extended, the horizontal line naturally continued past its boundary, and that single gesture allowed the form to evolve.

The flowing contour stretches outward, tipping into a playful exaggeration that becomes a shelf. Louiiiis lightly subverts the strict rules of frame-making; with one understated, adjustment, the frame gains a new function while preserving its original purpose.

Car-Los focuses on deconstruction. A traditional gold-leaf frame is carefully divided, creating two independent mirrors that remain visually and conceptually linked.

The exposed cut reveals the hidden interior—the thickness and quiet spaces that typically never meet the eye. Though separated, the two parts hold the memory of a shared origin; if reunited, their edges would nest perfectly together, returning to the whole from which they were born.

Morphosis rewinds reflectivity to its earliest origins, when reflection was first encountered not in glass, but in water. Beginning with a neoclassical frame, a subtle opening is introduced along its edge.

Water is poured and allowed to escape, its movement briefly observed before that form is captured, translated, and fixed in glass. By allowing the glass to behave like water, Morphosis brings together fluidity and control. In doing so, it gently subverts the rigidity and precision traditionally associated with neoclassical and antique frame-making.

Within the frame, the oil becomes a reflective black mirror, confronting viewers with its materiality and their own reflection. I want people to see themselves mirrored in one of the most consequential substances humanity has ever extracted from the earth.

The black surface acts as a metaphor for our collective choices and shared responsibility toward the planet. Its ambiguity compels reflection - both literal and symbolic - on our connection to extractive systems that define our age.
