Ahead of their Design & Contemporary Ceramics auction, Paul was asked to pick his top five items going under the hammer.

Paul hand selected a range of works including those by artists and designers such as: Arne Jacobsen, Alvar Aalto, Greta von Nessen and Edmund De Wall. Also amongst Paul’s top picks was Olafur Eliasson’s, 'The Green Glass Carpet' (2010) - which he justified by stating:

“This piece plays beautifully with light, reflecting and tricking the eye. At first, I thought I was looking at an incredible surface of woven glass. Then I realised it was this intricately woven texture interacting with light and reflection, creating a sense of fluidity. I thought of light, water, and the fragility and balance of nature. As someone who explores these properties in my own work, it really drew me in.”

Alongside the Design & Contemporary Ceramics auction, a limited edition mirror and sculpture from our Squeeze collection will be on display at Bonhams Auction House from 21 - 23 October 2024.
