Paul Cocksedge Studio is debuting a new artwork in Milan, as part of WonderGlass’s ABRAKADABRA – a group exhibition that showcases and celebrates the craft of glassmaking. Named WONDER, the piece emphasises the mystery and alchemy of the material, using light and colour to provoke a contemplative state in people experiencing the artwork.

“The human mind is programmed to be curious, and wonder about how something is made or how it works, but I want this piece to encourage people to think less about the how or why, and simply enjoy the flow,” says Paul Cocksedge. “I want people to experience the depth of the colour palette and its sense of movement, as well as the sheer emotion created by the use of light and glass.”

The ABRAKADABRA exhibition is on display from 18 to 23 April, coinciding with the 61st edition of Salone del Mobile. It takes place at Milan’s Istituto dei Ciechi – a 131-year-old building home to a significant collection of artworks – and will also feature work from Bethan Laura Wood, John Pawson and Elena Salmistraro.

"We believe in the vibrant conversation between art and design; we are inspired by the idea of finding that ever-evolving fascination given by the mix of innovation, craftsmanship and wonder,” says Christian Mussati, Founder of WonderGlass
