STUDIO

Paul Cocksedge Studio was founded by Paul Cocksedge and Joana Pinho in 2004, a partnership grown during their time at the Royal College of Art in London. Together they have built the dedicated team of collaborators that form their Hackney-based studio today.

The studio’s work is underpinned by its extensive research into the possibilities of technology, materials and making processes.

The role of the human body as an activator of the work is also a constant motif, evolving out of an ambition to connect to people and place. Testing the properties of colour, light and material to their limits is often a tool to pique the curiosity of the passerby.

Paul Cocksedge Studio has collaborated with leading cultural institutions and galleries, from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London to Friedman Benda in New York, as well as with luxury brands including Hermès, Swarovski and BMW.

Work by the studio is held in numerous collections worldwide including the British Council, Victoria & Albert Museum, the Design Museum in London; the Museum of Arts and Design and the Museum of Modern Art in New York; the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston; and the Eskenazi Museum of Art in Bloomington, Indiana.
