Loop is located within The Rowe office created by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris within the former London Metropolitan School of Art.

The suspended work celebrates both the expressed metalwork of the building and the rich textile history of the Whitechapel neighbourhood.

Loop takes on the natural draping properties of the fabric, and creates a rhythmic intervention, contrasting the linear forms of the architecture.

Every line is balanced, calibrated and tensioned to appear, at first sight, like a ribbon of metal.

“Whitechapel’s garment, textile and metal-working history dates back hundreds of years, and our installation at The Rowe pays homage to this – creating a fluid, rhythmic piece that invites visitors to sit, rest, and contemplate. The piece balances weight and structure with a visual lightness.” – Paul Cocksedge.

This permanent installation was commissioned by Frasers Property UK.
