Paul Cocksedge has designed an undulating slide for Surface Magazine’s latest issue – which invites 13 architects and designers to reimagine the playground.
Oscillate is inspired by childhood memories. The slide's continuous form recalls the joy of sliding and the freedom of play, celebrating infinite motion. It's designed to encircle the playing area, encouraging people to gather, walk in and out beneath the arches and, of course, slide down.
“We hope the piece offers a return to the playground’s original purpose as a place for us all to run, have fun, and be free – in the absence of electrical noise," says Paul.
