As part of a new exhibition held in the Sir John Soane's Museum, Paul Cocksedge will install a light intervention that will bathe visitors in a golden glow. Windows in the museum's newly restored Regency kitchens will be covered in coloured film, while lights placed outside will shine through to recreate the yellow Mediterranean light that so fascinated the architect during his life – inspired by Soane's decision to create colour effects by adding tinted skylights to the building. Visitors will have the chance to take home their own ray of light, with a kit that allows them to recreate the same coloured glow using their own windows. The installation is part of the museum's Below Stairs exhibition, which opens on 13 September and also features new work by designers including Martino Gamper, Jasper Morrison and Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby.
