EXCAVATION SLICED CORE TABLE

After hearing he was to be evicted to make way for luxury flats, Cocksedge extracted hundreds of cylinders from the concrete floor of his London studio.

Mining the foundations uncovered traces of the building’s former life as a Victorian stable.

The coarse texture of brick and concrete is paired with the lightness of glass to create a range of furniture pieces.

The series comprising Excavation Core Shelf, Excavation Double Core Table, Excavation Exploded Core Table and Excavation Sliced Core Table was commissioned by Friedman Benda Gallery and was shown at Milan Design Week 2017.
